Besides photography, I enjoy video taping trains. For the most part, I have used a Sony 8mm Camcorder, but some of the early clips were shot with a old RCA video camera and portable recorder. We now use a digital camcorder, which provides better quality video. I used to have RealVideo and Windows Media formats available, but have now switched over to You Tube. I get more exposure that way.
On September 16, 1989, the Union Pacific ran an excursion train featuring the 844 from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Denver, Colorado and return.
In May of 1994, the Union Pacific celebrated the anniversary of the completion of the first transcontinental railroad by running the Challenger, #3985 from Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Ogden, Utah.
On June 15, 2002, the Union Pacific operated an excursion train from West Chicago, Illinois to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and back.
The 261 ran on a excursion trip from Chicago to Galesburg, IL and back on June 22, 2002.
